Our group together or alone in pairs are super frequent here and for the last 25 years plus. The food is always good and service from Lynn and her ladies Holly Yvonne and Breanne are above excellent, always treated with a smile. Even in this cold weather. The soon as we sit down, their great coffee is served quick not having to wait. Lynn you have a great team with the cooks and these ladies which makes it worth coming back Bravo!
Had supper at Socrates in St Albert on Friday night, June 6. Had beef dip with Caesar salad. The salad was very fresh and tasty. The beef dip was awesome. Beef was tender & melt in your mouth. The atmosphere was very nice and our waiter was very pleasant and very efficient. We will be back. Great place to eat and portions are huge.
Eaten here three times now and the food has been great all 3 times. The breakfast bowl and steak omelet are easily the best restaurant breakfasts I have ever eaten. I have seen complaints on price but that's pretty inaccurate. The food is good and the portions are huge. My breakfast bowl was 2 full meals. Will be back as this is now my breakfast go too when I visit the Edmonton area.
Went to Socrates yesterday with my brother, he had bacon and eggs, and I had a Benny bowl. Both were excellent. The Hollandaise sauce was surprisingly light and delicious. We were offered coffee regularly, but not over served. The waitress was likely the best part of our experience because she always genuinely smiled and joked a little bit. So it was so nice to have good meals and lighthearted service. My brother uses their catering and says it is also great.
This restaurant was awesome!!! The staff are super friendly and accommodating! I had the eggs Benedict and it was perfection!!! Prices are reasonable and portions are pretty big! Definitely worth all our Pennie’s! I recommend everyone to come here!!! Our waitress even ran out to us getting in our car because my husband left his smokes on the table accidentally!!!
The portions are amazing of your a big eater, you're gonna like it. The food was great also. My shoestring potatoes weren't very hot, but the omelette was. Loved the 80's music. We thought it wouldn't be that busy coz it was a weekday, but still pretty busy. I understand why it's so popular though. Kind of an old school diner. I would definitely go again. Great value for the money. Prices would be similar too Denny's or Humptys, but better food..
We've been going to Socrates once a week for years for breakfast. Great food, and YVONNE , our favorite waitress is exceptional. Always smiling, helpful and, checks to see which of our two favorite breakfasts we want. If there is anything new on the menu she let's us know. Asks how we're doing and if she has too many customers we know she's has the energy and personality to keep us all satisfied and happy. Absolutely "top of the line service".
I now understand why this place is always packed in the morning time.... Finally just went and checked out this gem with my husband for supper and the service was not only welcoming and friendly, the food was excellent, best clubhouse sandwich I have ever had. I would imagine the whole menu is delicious, hence why the early bird crowd is so large. ..and no it was not packed at supper time, just to throw it out there. I would highly recommend this diner to anyone! Thank You Socrates! :)
